Abstract

Rapid social changes driven by technological advancements, globalization, and societal dynamics have presented various challenges for individuals. These changes not only alter patterns of social interaction but also generate psychological pressures that require effective adaptive capabilities. In such contexts, spirituality serves as an internal resource that helps individuals understand, accept, and navigate these changes. This article aims to examine the relationship between spirituality and the coping strategies individuals employ when facing social change. The study utilizes a literature review methodology, analyzing various sources regarding the concepts of spirituality, coping strategies, and social change. A descriptive and interpretive analysis was conducted to understand the role of spirituality in shaping individual responses to the pressures arising from social change. The findings indicate a significant relationship between spirituality and an individual's ability to develop adaptive coping strategies. Individuals with a strong sense of spirituality tend to be better equipped to manage stress, find meaning in change, and maintain emotional balance amidst uncertainty. Furthermore, spirituality fosters hope, gratitude, and optimism, all of which support the process of adjustment. Thus, spirituality can be understood as a crucial factor enhancing the effectiveness of individual coping strategies in the face of social change. These findings suggest that strengthening the spiritual dimension offers an alternative approach to helping individuals build resilience and adaptability amidst evolving societal changes.
